“Not Enough”

Not Enough represents Buden's dreams of an unwritten future. Marking a new beginning of subject matter his work transcends mere graphic illustration through poetic metaphors and visual strategies that emphasise a new phase of self questioning and realisation. Fluctuating between the real world and the dream world his contradictions, hopes and desires emerge in a confessionary moment that represents a new chapter for yet more epic takes on reality and illusion.
“Fragment Defragmentation”

Gan states that the collaging of multiple scenes is a process of fragmentation and recomposition
in order to create an ‘incomplete painting’. This reflects the limitations of human sight in that we
are never able to view things in their entirety whilst also attempting to liberate the viewer from
this by presenting different perspectives in one work. |

Samsudin Wahab
Hailing from Perak, this Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) graduate has had a successful run in the last couple of years. In 2008, his solo exhibition Enough! was a sell-out with every piece being snapped up by art collectors, and in 2009, Samsudin was artist-in-residence at Rimbun Dahan, Kuang. The artist, who has also ventured into performance art, is best known for infusing pop culture, the art of comic books, and political satire into his striking works.
Gan Chin Lee
Gan Chin Lee gained a diploma in Illustration from The One Academy of Communication Design in the late nineties, but continued his studies at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. He holds a Masters Degree from this esteemed institution. Gan’s works in this exhibition are realistic portrayals of everyday Malaysian life, and, the artist says he was influenced by art practices of Antonio Lopez Garcia and in restoring the experience of the first person perspective. |
