Every picture tells a story and art once upon a time, played a strong role in storytelling. Despite the changes in time and advancement in technology and moving images, the role of art advanced from telling tales to creating statements and messages to the masses.
Realism depicts everyday situations, dilemmas and objects in a true to life manner. Expressions of beliefs, culture and events advances in the ever changing society, but their attention however remains grasped throughout time. As humans we are capable to think, rationalise and love. But out of honesty, there is always a little white lie that we make. Sometimes too often, we are deceived by others in order to gain some personal advantage for themselves.
Deceitful Truth provides a peek into the observation and reviews by the participating artists. This exhibition shows how they explore the human figure in their paintings based on their personal lives and the world that they belong to.
Participated by emerging artists Azaikmal Ahmad Rashid, Chong Ai Lei, Mohd Khairul Izham Md Rashid, Nurfadilah Karim and introducing Rofizano Zaino from Singapore, Deceitful Truth will be exhibited at Galeri Chandan from 5th until 23rd December 2011. |
